New Restaurant Serves Up More Space

As the Zoo has grown, so has the need for quality food choices and spaces to eat. A new restaurant will replace the existing facility, which is located in the Zoo’s Central Plaza. Plans include expanded indoor and outdoor eating areas, including a larger pond and new landscaping for your viewing enjoyment. The new restaurant is scheduled to open January 2008.

The Tiger Challenge

We’ve got the lions and bears, and now the Zoo is setting its sights on creating a world-class tiger exhibit. The Zoo has received a challenge grant to begin the development of a new Asian tiger exhibit. Total cost for the exhibit is estimated at $3 million. The donor, who requests to remain anonymous at this time, donated the first million and challenged the Foundation to raise a second million by the end of 2007. Once the Zoo meets this challenge, the donor will provide the additional third million needed to complete the new Asian tiger exhibit. The exhibit is tentatively scheduled to open in Spring 2009.
