It’s not all in the numbers, but they sure are impressive! When your Sedgwick County Zoo opened in August of 1971, the very first guests saw the only exhibits there were to see: the American and Asian Farms. In 2010, Sedgwick County Zoo welcomed its 15 millionth guest. Today we have a few more exhibits to visit than we did when our first guests passed through the gates, but our mission remains the same: To inspire discovery, appreciation, and respect for animals and nature.
