Boeing Wichita Presents: Earth Day Kansas
Tuesday, April 22: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Celebrate Earth Day Kansas!  This free environmental fair gives everyone the opportunity to learn how to protect and care for the world we live in.  With hands-on activities and interactive exhibits there are many learning opportunities for children. 

Easter Eggstravaganza
Easter EggstravaganzaSaturday, March 22: 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Come one, come all and enjoy Easter activities throughout the day! Meet the Easter bunny, participate in egg guessing games and much more!  Kids are encouraged to bring their Easter baskets to collect goodies located throughout the Zoo.  A special activity for children with special needs will be held at 1:00 p.m.  Call 266-8276 to register for the special needs activity.

Regular Zoo admission applies, members free with membership card and photo I.D.

Father’s Day Car Show
Sunday, June 15: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Dads, grab your crew, put the pedal to the metal and cruise on out to the Sedgwick County Zoo for Father’s Day.  See cool classic cars, antique autos and vintage hot rods while exploring your favorite animal exhibits at the Zoo.  Dads are admitted free when accompanied by a paying child.

Kids’ Zoobilee
Saturday, June 7: 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Laughter and smiles fill the air for an evening of tasty treats, games, tons of fun and a parade to end the evening. Tickets go on sale beginning April 1. Tickets purchased in advance are $15 per person. Tickets purchased the day of are $17.  Children 3 and under do not need a ticket. Purchase tickets online or call 316-660-WILD (9453)

Mother’s Day
Mothers DaySunday, May 11: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.   
Celebrate the beauty of spring and treat your mom to a visit to the Zoo on her special day!  Visit our newest babies, our Zoo moms and enjoy the great family atmosphere!  All moms are admitted free when accompanied by a paying child.

Night of the Living Zoo
Night of the Living ZooOctober 24, 25 & 26: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Bring your ghouls and goblins for a night of not-too-scary Halloween fun at the Sedgwick County Zoo! Several ghoulish activities, like pumpkin bowling and beanbag tosses, can be found throughout the Zoo.  Take a stroll down jack-o-lantern lane, creep up to candy stations and let your spirit come alive! Tickets can be purchased in advance at area QuikTrip Stores for $5.  Ticket purchased at the gate are $5 for Zoo members and $7 for nonmembers. Adults and children 3 and older will need to purchase a ticket.  Children 2 and under do not need a ticket.

June 12 – Marcia Ball

Known for miles around as an enthusiastic pianist and a soul-wrenching vocalist, Marcia Ball brings the whole show. Her music brings with it a gulf coast influence spicier than the Cajun cuisine. Winner of the 2002 Blues Music Award for “Blues Album of the Year,” she also took home the 2007 Blues Music Award for “Piano Player of the Year.” She is sure to set the tone for an outstanding summer concert season!

June 26 – Jack Mack & the Heart Attack

Best described as “Extraordinary performers and dynamic musicians,” Jack Mack and the Heart Attack brings Los Angeles style rock ‘n’ soul to the summer concert stage. They play the hottest songs from yesterday and today so they are sure to please an audience of all ages. Famous for their on-your-feet type beats, this ten-piece band is sure to bring a party!

July 10 – Biscuit Miller

A fun and funky style of bass playing is coming to Sedgwick County Zoo! Biscuit Miller will bring the party to the 2008 concert line up. Guaranteed to satisfy your cravings for a great time, this popular, soulful bass player will light up the stage and have you dancing on your feet!

July 24 – Commander Cody

Musical mayhem and controlled chaos is coming to the Sedgwick County Zoo! Sporting his legendary antics raucous mixture of country music, rockabilly, and blues with a foundation of boogie-woogie piano, Commander Cody has the ability to get any crowd on its feet.

August 7 – Guitar Shorty

Nominated for two Blues Music Awards this famous artist brings years of experience playing alongside big names like Big Joe Turner, Little Richard and former members of the Eagles and Steely Dan. His sincere, energetic rocking blues style is sure to capture any audience.

August 21 – Seth Walker

Another great jazz and blues artist takes the stage to close out the summer concert series. Seth Walker brings heavily influenced guitar melodies and his own outstanding songwriting abilities to the stage in what is sure to be full of infectious, down-home style. He has a natural ability to entertain audiences with the music and ease with which he performs. So wind down your summer nights with this all-around artist!

What to Expect on Concert Night:

The Zoo will close at 5:00 p.m. and the gates will reopen for all shows at 6:30 p.m.   Zoo exhibits will remain open until the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. 

Cold drinks and food will be available for your dining pleasure.  If you decide to bring your own picnic, remember no alcohol is allowed to be brought in.  Beer will be available at vendor locations. 

Bring your own lawn chair and enjoy an evening under the stars.

All events will be held on the originally scheduled dates. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Pavilion.

Ticket Information:

Advanced tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for children ages (4-11), for both Zoo members and non-members.  Advance tickets can be purchased at the Zoo entrance, by phone at 316-266-8276 or online beginning May 1.

Tickets purchased at the gate the evening of the concert are:

  • $10 for Adult members

  • $12 for Adult nonmembers
     

  • $4 for member children

  • $6 for nonmember children

*Children 3 and under are admitted free.

Includes tickets to 6 concerts for the price of 5 and two free beverages (non-alcoholic) per concert.

Tuesday, May 13: 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

The Zoo is open just for you!  Take advantage of the evening hours and stroll through the Zoo with family and friends! Admission is just $5 with your River Festival button.

Twilight Tuesdays
Every Tuesday in June, July & August: 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The Zoo is open just for you! The later hours give you the opportunity to relax and stroll through the Zoo after a long day. Take advantage of the evening hours and enjoy time with family and friends!

Wet-N-Wild Days
Wet'n Wild DaysFridays, June 13, 20 & 27, July 4, 11, 18 & 25, August 1 & 8: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Slather on the sunscreen and join in the summer fun at Sedgwick County Zoo!  Get drenched by the cascading sprinkler towers.  Come splash in the water and play fun games.  Regular Zoo admission applies, members free with membership card and photo I.D.

Winter Hours Begin Saturday, November 1
November through February Zoo  hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily

Winter Wednesdays
January 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20, 27, November 5, 12, 19, 26 December 3, 10, 17, 24, 31: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Grab your coats, throw on your mittens and head over to the Sedgwick County Zoo for Winter Wednesdays!  Spend the day in the refreshing outdoors for just $2 every Wednesday in November through February.

Zoobilee
Saturday, September 6: 6:00 p.m. – Midnight
Musical entertainment and wild animals will greet you as you arrive for this annual fund-raiser.  Bring your appetites for delicious delicacies from over 70 of our community’s favorite restaurants. Tickets will go on sale in early July.  To receive a special invitation or to purchase tickets, call 660-WILD.  Tickets must be purchased in advance.
